Some objects begin with a single image that stays with you. The Château candle takes its architectural character from the rooftops of an ensemble of houses and castles. Their distinctive silhouettes and curves and slopes inspired parts of the shape. The grooves come from a completely different inspiration: A marble wall cladding in a hallway I photographed years ago Its rhythm, depth and repetition struck me and now... Two places, two moments, two architectural details - one Château!!!
